About Shah Alam

Shah Alam is presently administrated by the Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) under the Selangor state government. Shah Alam is well connected to other main cities in Klang Valley. The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) located 30 km south of the city, while the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang caters to domestic flights and is connected via the Federal Highway.

Shah Alam is most famous for its mosque, the Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. It boasts the tallest minarets in the world. Decorative Islamic calligraphy dominates the edges surrounding the dome and main prayer hall. One of the latest attraction in Shah Alam is I-City which is also known as the city of lights. It is recognised at the first lightscape tourism destination in Malaysia with state-of- the-art LED technology showcase. The city also has a number of shopping malls such as Plaza Alam Sentral, SACC Mall, Plaza Shah Alam, Ole-Ole Seksyen 18, Anggerik Mall, Kompleks PKNS and Setia City Mall.
